The Tulip Tree—also known as Yellow Poplar or Tulip Poplar—is a majestic North American native with uniquely shaped leaves and green-yellow flowers that resemble open tulips. Loved by bees and admired by anyone who looks up, this tree grows tall, straight, and proud—sometimes reaching over 100 feet in its lifetime.
It’s a fast-growing, pollinator-friendly shade tree that adds grace to any large garden, homestead, or field edge. These seeds may take time and patience, but what they become is worth every minute.

Here’s how to give them their best chance:
Mix seeds with moist sand or peat
Place in a sealed container or bag
Refrigerate for 60–90 days
After stratification, plant ¼” deep in pots or directly outdoors
Keep moist until germination (can take 4–6 weeks post-chilling)
Transplant to final location when seedlings are 6–12 inches tall
